The tomatoes are anthropomorphic white people. Flesh coloured, round, daft looking. For half a second there I thought it was sort of racist but then I remembered from my social conditioning that racism against white people does not exist.
It costs $723 per episode to produce and every penny is up there on the screen! If you filmed it in black and white it would look like early TV productions from 1950’s CBC prehistory. If Lido’s production company was given a big cheque it looks like she elected to put most of it in her pocket. CBC - if you are listening - I have this idea about teaching little kids about libertarian / conservative values using sock puppets. I can let you have it for $50,000 per episode for a 24 episode package.
